Chicago Coworking Spaces

The Chicago coworking scene has exploded over the last few years. We’ve been chatting for months with our favorite Chicago social media agency about creating this map and here it is. The Coop (now NextSpace River North) was the first coworking space to open in Fulton Market in 2008. in 2012 when we (Enerspace Coworking) opened, it was still just us, the Coop, OfficePort and TechNexus that were operating as “official” coworking spaces. As of this writing (March, 2015), there are 32 coworking spaces scattered all over the city. The Loop still boasts the most density, but spaces are popping up in neighborhoods.

Chicago Coworking Spaces By Neighborhood…

This map shows the coworking spaces that we’re aware of today that fit the following criteria:

  • Operate as a dedicated coworking space (vs. an office or other space with a few shared desks)
  • Professionally managed (Community manager, operations manager, etc.)
  • Have a dedicated website
  • We did not include business centers offering coworking areas

If you know of a space that should be added, please leave a note in the comments!
